MyInternetBusiness Training: Get On the Front Page of Google for Free!

June 20th, 2008 · 5 Comments

Many internet marketers quest for that Holy Grail: first-page placement on search engines for their websites. Some spend thousands on shady SEO companies, others blow large sums of money on Pay-per-click.

One of my focuses as a MyInternetBusiness team leader is teaching my associates how to get on the front page themselves…for free or cheap. Pay-per-click is OK, but showing up in the actual search results, which is known as organic traffic, is SOOOO much better.

Prospects who find My Internet Business through a Google search are some of the highest-quality prospects, who have the best conversion rates into sales.

Why?

Because they were actively LOOKING for more information about MyInternetBusiness…and they found your site, decided they liked what they saw, and opted in to learn more! From there, you can bet they eagerly watched Darren Gaudry’s video tour, and now are just waiting for that personal followup touch to help them decide whether or not they want to buy in.

‘OK, Rob, I GET IT ALREADY, I want to be on page 1 of Google!’

Heheh, all right, let’s hop to it then. I hope you are ready to do some serious WRITING.

That’s right…you need two key things to successfully perform Search Engine Optimization and Search Engine Marketing:

1) High-Quality Content Relative To Your Keywords
If you want to get ranked for the keyword, MyInternetBusiness, than your site should contain information about MyInternetBusiness, not about basket weaving. Savvy? Design your site to be USER-FRIENDLY…many internet marketers make the mistake of designing their sites to be SPIDER-FRIENDLY, in the hopes that the search engine spiders will give them special treatment. This is a mistake and can lead to sacrificing quality of site content, which should never be done.

Create your site for your visitors, and the search engine spiders will fall into line.

2) GOT GREAT CONTENT? Now it’s time to focus on building HIGH QUALITY BACKLINKS, to Topically-Relevent Sites.
At first, most of your backlinks will come from your other sites…which is fine. That is why we do

  • Blogging
  • Squidoo
  • Press Releases
  • Video Marketing
  • Article Marketing
  • Social Bookmarking
  • CraigsList
  • All of the above are Web 2.0 marketing methods with user-driven content…in other words, all of the content on these websites comes from users like us. For example, we submit our videos to Youtube, our Articles to Ezinearticles.com (they are a super pain in the ass about approving articles, but well-worth it), our bookmarks to Digg, and our press releases to Webwire.

In every single one of these marketing instruments, you should have great-quality content about MyInternetBusiness, what it is and what it offers, AND…

…EMBEDDED links to a few of your other sites! I.e. a blog entry should link to your capture page, your Squidoo site, and your press release, perhaps. Your Squidoo should link to all of the above and your blog. Your press release should link to your capture page, blog and Squidoo.

What you are doing here is spinning a web of inter-connecting websites, all of which strengthen each other and boost your rankings. Many of these will achieve high search engine ranking on their own; for example, my press release, Groundbreaking News About Darren Gaudry’s MyInternetBusiness.Com has been sitting pretty on page 1 of Google AND Yahoo for some time now!

So in closing, build a great website that is user-friendly and has valuable information about My Internet Business. Then build lots of high-quality backlinks through various Web 2.0 marketing methods that you can learn about in the MyInternetBusiness and Mentors 4 U back offices.

I’m looking forward to seeing you on the front page!

“I.e. a blog entry should link to your capture page, your Squidoo site, and your press release, perhaps. Your Squidoo should link to all of the above and your blog. Your press release should link to your capture page, blog and Squidoo.”

This method advocates reciprocal links and while not “bad” per se, they are not looked upon as favorably by Google as one-way links.

I would agree that linking everything back to your blog is good…that’s your main target. But I would suggest NOT linking your blog back to those sites and those sites to each other. Google will spot mass interlinking pretty quickly, and while it may work temporarily or for markets/keywords with little competition. It will not be a long term solution for competitive markets.

I stumbled upon this site quite by accident, but if I may be so bold as to offer a freebie tip? Take it for what it’s worth, but this is a game I know a little about…

Think of linking as a pyramid: At the top is your target site, below that are your supporting sites built on “reputable” domains ( for Google reputation and linking power are synonymous - squidoo, hubpages, Digg, Stumble Upon, Yahoo Answers, etc…). Finally, below that are your foundation sites built on less powerful domains (generally free blogs or websites, most public forums, etc…). Link everything UP. Foundation sites link up t0 and boost the reputation of your supporting sites which link up to and boost the reputation of your target site.

Crosslinking/back linking is generally not advised when possible becasue it will alert Google that these sites are related and they will discount the value of the links. The links will still be taken into account and will have SOME affect on rankings, but they are not nearly as advantageous as unique one-way links.

Again, I’m not here to argue or cause trouble. I happened to run across this site and saw an opportunity to offer some sound advice on a subject I’m very familiar with. I hope you look upon this as a friendly gesture and not a poke in the eye. I appreciate anyone willing to take the time to coach and teach others. Consider this my contribution to the cause. :)

      Best regards,
      Doug

Thanks Doug. The linking/SEO that I teach is the way that I was taught. And it has been fairly successful for me in the niche markets that I have been working in.

With that being said, I am never too proud to learn something new. I will try out your linking pyramid strategy, and if it works well, I will pass it on to my team.

Thanks for your insight and for visiting my blog.

Thank you for your wealth of information. This business and any affiliate business can achieve and see super success with these techniques that you have mentioned. We utilized these in our marketing and advertising campaigns that we do and can be done with little to no money at all in most instances. This is how we went from making less than $600/Month to far exceeding 28/K a month so the information that you provide as you can tell is most certainly valuable and have stood the test of “affiliate time”

Again, thank you for helping to ensure that other people achieve their dreams.

      God Bless -

      Rob,

Thank you for sharing this information. I have been following your advice for just about 3 weeks now and have accomplished first page listing on yahoo, and it’s sticking as well as more than 1 2nd page listing on Google and those are sticking and climbing almost daily. With a few more additions or tweaks that you teach, I anticipate listings on google to reach page 1 very soon.
Thank you for all the guidance and training. This really does work! And Well!

You are making a difference in our lives and our marketing!

      Sincere Regards,
      Timothy Parent
