9 Reasons Prison Is Better Than Your Day Job

August 22nd, 2008 · 2 Comments

One of the greatest thrills as a Passport to Wealth team leader is helping people escape the captivity, depression and hopelessness of their day jobs.

Having come from a background of 60 hour work weeks as a business executive, I can identify with the article below, and I’m sure you can too!

9 reasons prison is better than your office

When you start comparing the differences between the joint and the office, sometimes an orange jumpsuit’s a better choice than a suit and tie.

Ever feel like your cubicle or office is a jail cell? Well, it’s not. A jail cell’s probably better. Here are some interesting comparisons pulled from around the Internet:

  • In prison, you get time off for good behavior. At work, you get rewarded for good behavior — with more work.
  • In prison, a guard locks and unlocks all the doors for you. At work, you have to carry around a security card and open all of the doors yourself.
  • In prison, you spend the majority of your time in an 8-by-10 cell. At work, you spend most of your time in a 6-by-8 cubicle.
  • In prison, you get three square meals a day. At work, you only get a break for one meal — and you have to pay for it.
  • In prison, you usually get your own toilet. At work, you have to share.
  • In prison, your friends and family are allowed to visit. At work, you can’t speak to your family or friends because it’ll distract everyone else.
  • In prison, all expenses are paid by taxpayers with little work required. At work, you have to pay expenses just to get to work, and once you’re there, they deduct taxes from your salary … to pay for prisons.
  • In prison, you spend most of your time looking through bars from inside wanting to get out. At work, you spend most of your time wanting to get out and go inside bars.
  • Finally, in prison, there are wardens who are notoriously sadistic. At work, they’re called “supervisors.”

Too funny, and too true! It’s amazing how many people will spend their entire lives working for someone else, yet still end up broke when they are ready to retire. Even having reached the top of my career path, I realized that the answer to becoming wealthy was not to work for a company…at least, not to become wealthy in the relatively short period of time that was my goal.

Of course, you, the reader, are probably different than most, because by finding and reading my blog, you have already expressed an interest in working for yourself and being your own boss. If you are already self-employed, and making a full-time income with your own business, than good for you! Welcome to the club.

But if you are looking from the outside in, why don’t you come inside and let me show you the view from the top? Just head over and take a look at how you can obtain your Passport to Wealth and start building a profit-generating business that will last.
