I am blogging today today to give you some hard facts that may scare you off from starting your own internet business–but also may save you a lot of money and heartache in the long-run.  Yes, this may cost me a lot of potential commissions, but I try to build my business on a foundation of honesty and ’real deal’-ness (that’s not even remotely a word, is it?)

Look, it’s 2009, and the economy isn’t getting any better anytime soon.  But, just dumping money to start your own business isn’t going to magically fix things for you (at least not right away).  I know you are thinking about it, and probably hearing all kinds of promises about various online businesses that do all the work for you, making $8000000 per month right away, etc.

Fact: You cannot  make a full-time income with an online business right away unless you have a LOT of money to advertise with.

Fact: You cannot make ANY money with an online business unless you WORK at it, or outsource to turnkey advertising solutions to do it for you!  And to outsource it costs money.  So you need time and/or money to make money.

Fact: These other businesses you are looking at that say you don’t have to put in any work?  You have to either advertise yourself or pay others to do it for you in ANY business.  They just aren’t telling you this.

Fact: Realistically, it is going to take a few months before your start to show any profits from your business.  This isn’t always the case, but that’s how it works 90% of the time.

Ok, I think you get the idea.  I try to shoot straight with you in all of the personal emails I send, and in my videos (you can see some video messages from me here)

So if I’m telling you things that conflict with what other people are telling you, it’s because I care more about you being able to make an informed decision about whether or not you want to join me in myinternetbusiness, and have a long-term profitable relationship for us both, then just making a quick buck on the sale.

Make sense?

So, maybe I’ve scared you off, but maybe you appreciate the honesty and want to learn more.  If that’s the case, what you will want to do is get the facts by requesting a callback from one of our expert phone assistants who will go over all the details with you and help you figure out whether this is for you.

So why do I have professional business specialists making phone calls for me, instead of doing it myself? Well, ask yourself, do you want to be calling people up to try and explain the world of online business and internet marketing yourself?  Do you have the time, patience, phone skills, etc?

I’m a busy guy, just like you (unless you are, in fact, female, in which case you are a busy gal!).  I’d rather have professionals do it for me…that’s one nice thing about this particular online business–not having to ever make any phone calls!

So by filling out that callback request form and talking to the business specialist, you’ll
1) Get all the information you need to decide if this is really what you want to do
2) See first-hand that you will never have to personally call anyone, answer questions, etc!

Sound fair?

Ok then, go ahead and fill out that form, have your questions ready when you get the call, and let’s make this a prosperous new year together!

Very truly yours,

Rob Hunter

Behold! The MyInternetBusiness Christmas Special is Here!! http://mustang-solutions.com/blog/2008/12/23/behold-the-myinternetbusiness-christmas-special-is-here/ http://mustang-solutions.com/blog/2008/12/23/behold-the-myinternetbusiness-christmas-special-is-here/#comments Tue, 23 Dec 2008 16:26:15 +0000 RobHunter http://mustang-solutions.com/blog/?p=185

The long-awaited MyInternetBusiness Christmas Special video is the latest in my chain of wacky, snarky, yet spot-on accurate films about what it really takes to succeed with your own online business. Hopefully this special offer which does all the setup and ‘getting started’ portion of MyInternetBusiness will help a lot of potential My Internet Business owners jump the fence and finally start their business.

Hope you enjoyed the video–I almost re-shot it, because for some magical reason the image quality was just god-awful, but I thought ‘You know, my viewers probably don’t CARE about the quality of my videos, they care about whether or not I can genuinely help them build a profitable online business’

Since the message itself does a great job of conveying just that, I decided to publish it as is.

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and stay tuned to my blog for more great content–NEXT YEAR!

Computer woes–and how I made the best of it http://mustang-solutions.com/blog/2008/12/22/computer-woes-and-how-i-made-the-best-of-it/ http://mustang-solutions.com/blog/2008/12/22/computer-woes-and-how-i-made-the-best-of-it/#comments Mon, 22 Dec 2008 15:28:26 +0000 RobHunter http://mustang-solutions.com/blog/?p=184 So, after 6 years of loyal service, my Dell Dimension has at last decided to retire.

Well, it wasn’t actually my computer’s decision, it more had to do with the malware that had infected it–I tried system restores, booting in safe mode to track down and remove the offending programs, and other methods. I *sort of* fixed it up enough so that the computer will now at least boot up–before, Windows XP wasn’t even booting, it just went to a black screen.

But this software keeps automatically loading, no matter how many times you close it. Ironically, it’s a software that claims it will protect me from spyware and malware! That reminds me of a mafia protection racket…come in, break a few things while advertising the ‘protection services’ that Guido and Bruno will provide to my shop.

So, I went to see what it would take to get the computer fixed by professionals. I went over to Best Buy, and for a diagnosis and removal of malware, it would be…::drumroll:: $199!

I thought about it…200 hundred bux for a service that might or might not fix a 6-year old computer? How about…no? Instead, I went across the street and bought a brand new, state-of-the-art, 5 GB RAM super computer with a godly graphics card and like 500 GB hard drive.

It was just several hundred dollars more expensive than if I had paid for the diagnosis and spyware removal, and this machine is like 80 times faster and more powerful.

And you know the best part? It cost less than the profit I made on one single sale this December from MyInternetBusiness! How cool is that? I mean, I’m not here yelling about ‘Oh I just bought 3 new Bentleys from this week’s profits with MyInternetBusiness’, that’s just silly. But it does feel really good that I was able to deal with this computer crisis and cover it with just one sale that I made with my internet business!

Merry Christmas, my loyal reader, and stay tuned for the MyInternetBusiness Christmas Special Video!

How to Attain High Google Search Engine Ranking http://mustang-solutions.com/blog/2008/12/17/how-to-attain-high-google-search-engine-ranking/ http://mustang-solutions.com/blog/2008/12/17/how-to-attain-high-google-search-engine-ranking/#comments Wed, 17 Dec 2008 20:44:46 +0000 RobHunter http://mustang-solutions.com/blog/?p=183 As the majority of my sales for MyInternetBusiness come from organic Google search results, I thought I’d share a great article that I just read on the cunning behind Google’s ranking system:

The Cunning Brilliance of PageRank
A few weeks ago I found myself in the subway of New York City. Posters and billboards from a prominent bank promoted credit card decaled the underground landscape.

These well-crafted advertisements promised ten dollars back for every $100 spent on subway fares. It gave the current economic crisis and recession as the explanation for their incredible generosity and compassion.

Everybody around me seemed thoroughly impressed by this overwhelming gesture of selfless charity; many discussed in earnest how they were planning to sign up for this card to enjoy these charitable savings. It seemed I was the only one, the Christmas Grinch of the crowd, who perceived this advertisement strategy as more cunning and brilliant than selfless and generous. What an ideal time to hook people on yet another credit card, especially with the holiday season already upon us. Obviously the long-term interest this credit card company was anticipating far overshadowed their likely short-term promotional costs.

Indeed it was a cunning and brilliant strategy, much the same, I thought to myself, as Google’s page rank system.

At first glance it seems a very wise, fair and indeed brilliant system for determining positioning within the search ranks. On closer inspection, however, it is even more brilliant and cunning than most are giving it credit.

In the past, creating good, unique and newsworthy content, coupled with intelligent onsite optimization strategies, was at least enough to get your website found. These days are now gone, regardless of what some naïve or misleading SEO experts might still tell you.

Page Rank has now become the single most important factor in having your site found in the organic search results of the leading search engines. Page Rank is determined by the quantity and quality of websites that are linking to yours. Each website link acts as a kind of vote for the site it links to, and passes some of its own page rank to this site. The higher the page rank, and the more relevant the content of the site, the more significant the affect will be.

Since search engine bots cannot view your site in the same way a human views it, this strategy allows user popularity to have a significant affect on the algorithm these search engines are using. The belief is, of course, that the more quality and relevant sites that are voting for yours, the higher the probability that your site is a good one, and therefore deserving of a higher position.

Of course, this system is not perfect, and for obvious reasons, but it is certainly superior to deciding the importance of a site purely on onsite content. The reality is, there are thousands if not million of webmasters who can write unique, quality content. There are even more who know how to optimize this content for the search engines. However, millions of sites cannot be number one for a single keyword or phrase. Page rank must decide the difference.

The problem, however, is that the top search engines have now leaned so far away from onsite optimization, in preference of offsite optimization (i.e. page rank), that you are likely to find all kinds of lousy content and add riddled sites at the top of your searches. Putting a greater importance on links, however, plays significantly in Google’s favour. This is especially true today, as reciprocal and 3-way link exchanges have now been significantly devalued, along with paid links and link directories.

Google’s intent is that links should be entirely organic, occurring naturally when other webmasters like your site enough to add a link to it. This way of achieving links however, can take a very, very long time, as most Internet users do not know that they are supposed to do this. Most Internet users add the sites they like to their favourites, they don’t create a keyword rich link to it from their own highly relevant site. Nevertheless, this is just one of the many ways Google favours older more time-proven sites over newer, get rich quick sites. The fact is, unless the content of your website has just revealed something of tremendous news importance, it could take years before your quality site acquires enough natural, keyword rich links from relevant sites to significantly boost you to the top of the search engines.

The conundrum, however, is that nobody will find your great content, and thereby link to it, unless you are on page one or two for at least one keyword or phrase (one that gets searched for that is). So if you do want to acquire natural one-way links, you pretty much have only one choice. You will have to advertise.

Google now provides the best online advertising available. Not only is it inexpensive, it is targeted towards your keywords.

This means a much higher conversion rate. People will find your product or service when they are looking for it, not when they are looking for something else. And with around 80% of North American searches done on Google, it just wouldn’t make sense to concentrate your efforts anywhere else (unless your loyalty lies elsewhere).

Knowing this, guess who will reap the largest rewards of this new lean towards offsite optimization? The reality is, if you want your internet site to one day make it to the top of Google (and Yahoo and MSN) for an important keyword or phrase, you will have to acquire a substantial number of natural links. Since this could take years, as most webmasters are selfish and don’t link for nothing, and most Internet users don’t know to do this, you are bound to spend a small fortune with Google before your site is able to stand on its own. Of course Google won’t make as much of a profit from you once your site is on the top, but there will be millions of others who will still be vying for this position.

The bottom line is, you will need to spend money if you one day want to make money.

The only question is how much money can you afford to invest? Or should I say gamble, because no matter how much money you spend, there are no guarantees.

The results, of course, are purely organic, and Google’s algorithm can change at any time. Besides, by the time you’re actually on the top, your content and unique features will likely be outdated and not that impressive anymore.

Google insists that you cannot purchase or pay for the organic results located on the left side of the screen. If you are caught purchasing links that are intended to indirectly improve your search engine ranking position, you will either be significantly penalized, or removed from Google entirely. However, the only significant way to increase naturally is to pay for advertising on the right side, so people can actually find your great content and unique features, and provide you with these natural links.

Of course, there are some other ways to promote your site, such as blogging, posting on forums, and creating videos on Youtube, etc. The catch is, however, that if you’re not careful, you will be penalized for spamming (excessively promoting your site where you are not supposed to). This is why most forums these days have the no follow meta tags added to their code. Otherwise, you will just have to get creative in achieving and maintaining high PR links that are relevant and keyword rich.

Unfortunately, if you do find a way to attain these links in any way that Google considers unnatural, it will eventually update its algorithm and ensure you are penalized for your imaginative endeavours.

Personally, I’ve never seen so many people work so hard at what is considered cheating. Couldn’t we at least give them part marks for creativity? After all, you won’t even let them see the marking rubric.

Planning the MyInternetBusiness Christmas Special http://mustang-solutions.com/blog/2008/12/10/planning-the-myinternetbusiness-christmas-special/ http://mustang-solutions.com/blog/2008/12/10/planning-the-myinternetbusiness-christmas-special/#comments Wed, 10 Dec 2008 18:54:49 +0000 RobHunter http://mustang-solutions.com/blog/?p=182 I’ve been thinking about what kind of promotion I want to run for MyInternetBusiness this Christmas. Should it be a discount, a bonus paid advertising campaign, or actually doing some marketing for new members?

Well, I’m going to discard the idea of a discount–why? Well, for one thing, if people are discounting the investment cost for MyInternetBusiness.Com, it will result in the top competitors playing ‘Beggar Thy Neighbor’, by accepting less and less per sale. It will de-value the program, and take the focus off the REAL important decision in who to join with: namely, the mentoring, support and marketing tools that the sponsor offers to new members.

Sure, maybe someone will be willing to waive like $1500 from a Platinum membership–but if they can’t provide the mentoring you need, you’ve just spent $1495 and now have no way of recouping it. It’s better to spend the full $2995 and gain access to advanced internet marketing training, turnkey marketing campaigns, professional web design and autoresponder setup, etc.

Also, when something is acquired too cheaply, it is not valued as dearly as it should. For example…the statistics of those who join a business at the ‘Associate’ level–virtually free–are absolutely dismal in terms of their success. Why? When they realize that it actually requires effort to successfully market their business, they just shrug and say it’s too much trouble…after all, it didn’t cost them anything to get started, so why bother?

On the other hand, someone who invests their hard-earned money into their business is going to work that business like an animal and make sure that it pays itself back and then some–at least, usually. You still run into those magical people who shell out $3000 to start an internet business and then never do *anything* with it…no setup, no marketing, no returned emails or phone calls.

Who knows?

Anyway, so that’s why I’m not going to offer a cash discount to MyInternetBusiness membership. Instead, I am going to offer what in my opinion, is far more valuable: a veritable TON of free marketing and services.

The ‘getting started’ portion of MyInternetBusiness can be kinda daunting; learning about domain names, picking one out, getting your autoresponder, customizing what you want your website to look like, learning to forward your domain name to your website, setting up your merchant account, and learning and implementing blogging, Squidoo, press releases, article marketing, etc.

THIS is what I am thinking I will do for the MyInternetBusiness Christmas Special:

  • Setup and Pay for 1st month of MyInternetBusiness Mentors 4 U Marketing System
  • Purchase turnkey marketing campaign to generate 100 leads into the new member’s system
  • Setup of MIB back office, and creation and integration of Paypal payment page
  • One professionally-written premier press release
  • Two articles written and submitted to EzineArticles
  • One MyInternetBusiness Squidoo lens
  • Setup of new member’s blog
  • How about that! This will start all new Gold or Platinum members off with their own online presence right away, and will guide them through the toughest part of the internet business journey: getting started!

I think this is really going to be a blessing for all those who are planning to join MyInternetBusiness.

I’ll be going over ALL of this in the upcoming ‘MyInternetBusiness Christmas Special Video’, that I will be shooting later this week or this weekend!

Like most of my videos, this will be a fun one, not to be missed!

    Until then,

MyInternetBusiness Review: Travel Club http://mustang-solutions.com/blog/2008/12/09/myinternetbusiness-review-travel-club/ http://mustang-solutions.com/blog/2008/12/09/myinternetbusiness-review-travel-club/#comments Tue, 09 Dec 2008 13:53:13 +0000 RobHunter http://mustang-solutions.com/blog/?p=181 At all levels of MyInternetBusiness, there are luxury travel products available. For Platinum members, however, we actually have access to a full-service travel club with cruises, airfare, hotels, rental cars, etc.

I wonder how many MyInternetBusiness members actually take advantage of the immense savings they can realize through this travel club membership? Well, I for one, have done so, and decided to write a review here of the MyInternetBusiness travel club.

Last week, I had to go to Atlanta for a business trip. The hotel at which the conference was being held offered special discounted rates for conference attendees–but it was still kinda expensive. Just for grins, I thought I would see what kind of rates I could get via MyInternetBusiness. I logged into the travel club website, put in the dates and the location, and found a *nicer* hotel, literally right across the street (161 Spring St vs 160 Spring St), for $40 bux per night CHEAPER!

Although sometimes if something looks to good to be true, it is, in this case, it wasn’t. I booked the hotel across the street through My Internet Business and made the trip to Atlanta.

Surprisingly, everything went off without a hitch! My reservations were all in order when I arrived at the hotel, my room was very nice, and aside from the retarded parking lot control system, the entire stay was awesome.

So, two thumbs up for the MyInternetBusiness Platinum-level travel club; I shall certainly be using it again!

MyInternetBusiness has a new player! http://mustang-solutions.com/blog/2008/12/04/myinternetbusiness-has-a-new-player/ http://mustang-solutions.com/blog/2008/12/04/myinternetbusiness-has-a-new-player/#comments Thu, 04 Dec 2008 18:19:49 +0000 RobHunter http://mustang-solutions.com/blog/?p=180 It is somewhat gratifying to watch the MyInternetBusiness system in action…in this case, seeing my lovely wife Sarah transform from a complete internet ignoramous to a knowledgable and effective marketer. Just recently, she decided she wanted to start helping with the business, which is great, since I am busy with so many other things.

Sarah has been going through the action steps on our team training site, simultaneously learning and implementing. She’s already set up her blog and has a couple entries, and is working on Squidoo and article marketing. Next on her list is video marketing and press releases.

This really isn’t hard…it does require work and effort, but I honestly can’t understand why some of the people who join MyInternetBusiness invest their money and then never do a damn thing with it.

If you want to be successful with My Internet Business, or any internet business, for that matter, you absolutely have to drive interested traffic to your website by publishing lots of high-quality content to the internet. That is all there is to it…no traffic, no sales. And without content, how are people going to find your website?

There are lots of people making money with MyInternetBusiness…there are even more people who aren’t making a dime. What sets them apart? If you do a google search right now for ‘myinternetbusiness‘, (you can actually use the search bar on the right of this blog!), look at the top ten results. These are the people who are actively marketing this business and making money with it. Also look at the results on the right side–these are business owners using Pay-per-click marketing (basically, they are paying .50-$1.00 per visitor who clicks on those links, instead of doing all the work to get their site onto the front page of Google).

But if you aren’t doing SEO or PPC, you really are missing the boat with My Internet Business.

I’ve digressed a bit from how cool it is that my wife is learning internet marketing, and how her efforts are going to bring in even more sales for us. I can honestly say that I am proud of her, and wish that some of those members who never put any effort into their business could do the same kind of work that she is now!

Pass the buck! http://mustang-solutions.com/blog/2008/12/02/pass-the-buck/ http://mustang-solutions.com/blog/2008/12/02/pass-the-buck/#comments Tue, 02 Dec 2008 14:34:11 +0000 RobHunter http://mustang-solutions.com/blog/?p=179 One might be wondering why I have been somewhat remiss in updating my blog with information, product reviews, etc for MyInternetBusiness. If you saw my previous post, or wondered why the last blog entries that are shown are from way back in June 2008, you’ve probably figured out that the past five months of my blog entries appear to have magically vanished.

I contacted Wordpress.org for assistance…can you guess what they said? “Ask your hosting company where the entries went”

And, to beat a horse that if not already dead, is in mortal danger of expiring, can you guess what the hosting company said? “Ask Wordpress.org where the entries went”

LOL! Even though it happened to me, I have to laugh at this. And it’s nothing to be upset over. Those vanished blog entries made me a lot of sales for MyInternetBusiness and Passport to Wealth, so it certainly wasn’t time wasted!

I am going to continue to try and find WTF happened to my missing blog entries, but in the meantime I am going to mush on with updating my blog on a regular basis. So, while some might panic at this point, ‘Aaah there goes countless hours of my work aah!’, I say, ‘No worries.’

So stay tuned for information and reviews on the My Internet Business products, training, retail center, turnkey marketing solutions and more!

The ANSWER to Saving the Airline Industry!! http://mustang-solutions.com/blog/2008/06/30/the-answer-to-saving-the-airline-industry/ http://mustang-solutions.com/blog/2008/06/30/the-answer-to-saving-the-airline-industry/#comments Mon, 30 Jun 2008 15:22:08 +0000 RobHunter http://mustang-solutions.com/blog/?p=118 Good morning! Ok, if you are reading the blog today to glean some special insight into internet marketing, or learn how you can earn a full-time income with MyInternetBusiness, then I am afraid you are in for a disappointment. BUT, if you are in need of a good chuckle, then you’ve come to the right place!

A friend sent this to me, and I just had to share it.

HOW to SAVE the AIRLINE INDUSTRY

Dump the male flight attendants. No one wanted them in the first place.

Replace all the female flight attendants with good-looking strippers! What the hell — they don’t even serve food anymore, so what’s the loss?

The strippers would at least triple the alcohol sales and get a ‘party atmosphere’ going in the cabin. And, of course, every businessman in this country would start flying again, hoping to see naked women.

Because of the tips, female flight attendants wouldn’t need a salary, thus saving even more money. I suspect tips would be so good that we could charge the women for working the plane and have them kick back 20% of the tips, including lap dances and ’special services’.

Terrorists would be afraid to get on the planes for fear of seeing naked women. Hijackings would come to a screeching halt, and the airline industry would see record revenues.

This is definitely a win-win situation if we handle it right — a golden opportunity to turn a liability into an asset.

    Hope that brightened your morning!
