Summary:  A fantasy/horror saga set in the Dark World of Ravenloft, this
campaign focuses around the final days of this horrific world, and the rise of the
heroes whose actions may save it...or plunge it into an era of terror unknown even
in this tortured land!

Set 6 months after the end of the Celesti Saga, and the final battle with the Abyssal
Lord known as the 'Dark Servitor'.
               Campaign Rules/Policies

1) We will be playing on Saturday nights, beginning at 9 pm EST and going until we
reach a suitable stopping point.

2) We will play assuming that we have a quorum, ie. 50% or more of the players are
here.  Obviously, we will not be playing if I am unavailable for whatever reason...but I
will make every effort to be available.

3) We will be using the 3rd edition rules as the
BASE.  But a lot of things will be
changed, including armor, shields, combat, spell points, psionics, and more.

4) Because of this, don't rely on the rules, because that might not be the way that I
handle it.  Rely on your brains instead, and don't worry about the rules.  This makes
loopholes pretty useless, and rules-lawyering
completely useless.

5) Huge rewards will be given for creativity, ingenuity, and good role-playing.  This
story is NOT about hack-and-slash and loot...the character development, drama,
relations between PC's and NPC's, and overall goals and dreams and personalities of
the PC's are what will give this adventure life.

6) Combat--if you try something clever and creative, it will influence the success of your
combat action.  Sometimes it may backfire, but overall if you consistently do your best
to bring flavor and life to your fighting style, you will reap big dividends.

Good Example:  "The athletic swordmaiden feigns high with her blade, then abruptly
slashes down at the attacking mercenary's right thigh, her buckler pushing towards his
face to blind him to her feint."
Game effect:  PC makes a Feint roll, at +3 for her trick with the buckler, and if
she succeeds she eliminates her opponent's dexterity AND shield bonuses

Bad Example:  "I attack."

This isn't to say that you have to do something fancy EVERY time, but combat will be
a lot more enjoyable and you will do much better overall if you try to make
your actions descriptive and realistic.
        CHARACTER CREATION

There are 3 ways you can create your character, and the choice is yours:

Option 1) Play a Special Story Character

You have the option of selecting from one of FIVE special characters, all of whom
has pre-made stories that are integral to the campaign.  The special story
characters include:

The Fugitive Princess

The Gypsy Spellweaver

The Merc Captain

The Bounty Hunter

The Spymaster

Special story characters may also start at a (slightly) higher level than other
characters.  You can click on the link to get some basic information and a picture,
and if you decide that is the character you would like to play, I will disclose to you
their ENTIRE story, goals, stats, etc.

What your character actually does, how they act, whether they do good or evil, etc,
are all up to YOU of course.

Option 2) Custom-design a Special Story Character

You also have the option of creating your own character to fill one of the above-five
roles...your custom character will still have the built-in story, but you will select their
race, class, personality, goals, stats, skills, feats, etc.

Custom-designed story characters will start at level 1.  To choose this option, pick
which of the five special roles you would like to fill, and then proceed to the
character creation section in Option 3.

Option 3) Custom-design a character from scratch

This final option is the 'conventional' RPG character creation, where you design
your character's background, history, personality, race, class, etc.

If you choose this option, your story will be whatever you make of it!   Although this
gives you unlimited control over character creation, it will also require more thought,
effort and planning on your part to work yourself into the story that we are creating.

All PC's created using this method will start at level 1.
