SCA armored combat is a full-contact, unchoreographed martial sport
wherein noble warriors lay into each other with broadswords, spears, axes
and shields!

But don't let that scare you...due to the protective gear worn, and the training
involved, this is actually a sport with considerably fewer injuries per capita
than any other combat sport such as boxing, grappling, MMA, etc...and
actually, fewer injuries than football or soccer too!
SCA Heavy Fighting:
Knightly Armored Combat at its Finest!!
You choose a time period and region
from which to portray a man-at-arms,
then don armor and bear weapons
appropriate to that persona.

You might choose to portray an 11th
century Crusader, a viking Huscarl,
German landsknecht, Japanese
samurai, Mongol Bahadur...there are so
many, many possibilities!

And just because I used the term,
'man-at-arms', don't think this is a
Boys-Only club!  There are many
successful female fighters as well,
ranging the gamut from the delicate and
demure to the fiercely athletic!

SCA heavy combat is an honor-based
combat sport that appeals to a wide
variety of background...whether you be
prizefighter or gamer, jock or
manicurist, come out to one of our
practices and see if this martial art is for
you!
